The project involved transforming a vacant floor for an Oil and Gas Company, into a dynamic and multifunctional space that would serve as a nexus for employee interaction, relaxation, and enjoyment. The primary challenge was to create an environment that not only meets the functional needs of the employees but also enhances their overall well-being and productivity. This required a deep understanding of the employees’ preferences and needs, which was achieved through a series of engagement sessions where employees could voice their opinions and preferences. The insights gained from these sessions were crucial in shaping the design direction, ensuring that the space would be tailored to the employees’ comfort and satisfaction. Additionally, the design needed to incorporate modern principles of architectural psychology to create a space that fosters collaboration, creativity, and a sense of community, while also being flexible enough to adapt to the evolving needs of the workplace.
The design for the floor was inspired by a honeybee hive, symbolizing workforce synergy and unity. Vibrant hexagonal patterns across walls, floors, and ceilings create a dynamic environment, guiding movement and defining zones. The warm yellow colour palette evokes a welcoming atmosphere. The open layout features meandering pathways that encourage spontaneous encounters, with varied seating arrangements and communal areas interspersed with private nooks. Elements like water walls and moss walls purify the air and reduce stress, while unobstructed views and natural light enhance the mood and energy levels of employees. A central café serves as a vibrant hub for dining, connecting, and collaborating. Incorporating greenery, water, natural light, and materials like wood, the space promotes increased focus, creativity, and engagement. This design ensures a harmonious balance between the built environment and nature, fostering well-being and productivity.

The design showcases expertise in interior design and architectural psychology, using colours, textures, and natural elements to influence psychological and emotional states. Warm hues like yellow and natural materials like walnut create a positive, inviting environment. The modular design allows for flexibility, enabling the space to adapt to changing needs and fostering a sense of ownership and creativity among employees. This thoughtful approach ensures a harmonious balance between the built environment and nature, promoting well-being and productivity.
